Gordon Ramsay’s Sloppy Joes Knock Off
We have a few different sloppy joe recipes we like and this got added to the Make Again Approved list for it’s simple yet deep flavors and did I mention cheeeeeeeese??
2 lb ground beef (season with salt/pepper/garlic seasoning while cooking)
2 Tbsp butter
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped bell pepper
1 tsp Umami seasoning (sub 8-16 oz sliced mushrooms)
1/4 c Ketchup
2 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Black Pepper
6 tsp Corn Starch
2 cups Beef Broth
1-2 cups Provolone Cheese, cubed
Brown ground beef in pan getting a good sear. Remove from pan
In the same pan, melt butter. Add diced onion and pepper and brown well.
In a bowl, whisk together, umami, ketchup, worchestershire, salt, pepper, cornstarch and broth.
Pour sauce in the pan and simmer for 3-5 minutes until thickened.
Return ground beef to pan and mix well with sauce.
Remove from heat.
Add cubed cheese mixing in gently so the cheese melts into pockets of the beef.
Add beef to buttered and toasted buns.
Enjoy immediately.
